'International Symposium on Sustainable Aquaculture and Fisheries 2019' was held in Nobiprabi




Noakhali correspondent:The two-day International Symposium on Sustainable Aquaculture and Fisheries 2015 is inaugurated at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NOBPB). The symposium was organized by Nobi Robbic Fisheries and Marine Science Department at Haji Mohammad Idris Auditorium on Wednesday. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M Ahiduzzaman. Noakhali 4 constituency MP, General Secretary of district AL and Nobtpri Regent Board member Ekramul Karim Chowdhury were present as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Fisheries and Marine Science Department. Md. In the chairmanship of Jahangir Government, the program was attended by Director General of National Fisheries Department Abu Sayed Mohammad. Rashedul Haque, Director General of Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI) Yahya Mahmud, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) Kabir Ekramul Haque, Dean of Fisheries Faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University Professor Dr. Md. Gias Uddin Ahmed, Former Country Director of World Fisheries Dr. Craig A Meijner (excursion to non-governing).

The note presenter was a professor of Applied Biological Sciences at Hiroshima University. Tamizi Yamamoto and Dean of Fisheries Faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Wahab In the program, for the unique contribution of fisheries education and research in Bangladesh Dr. Md. Abdul Wahhab was given lifetime award.

At the program, 14 invited speakers of different universities presented topic related articles. 22 researchers presented their research articles and 45 researchers performed their posters. About 4 hundred participants attended this symposium.

On this occasion, the speakers emphasized the purpose of achieving SDG goals and the fair use of fisheries resources. Apart from this, articles on Blue Economy, coastal fishery cultivation, saline tolerance, food and nutrition are presented.
